Verse 1 (David)
Imagine that my hands were a different color
in a bubble with a significant other or my brothers,
I learned from my mother, we're all created equal
and Hip-Hop comes with 12 inches and a needle
so my conscience has got the best of me,
proceedin' through my life to 86 my greed
and I don't know where to lead so I ask you,
My pen writes Hip-Hop as my tongue speaks truth
so imagine, imagine the life that I live,
flows of poetry ever since I was a kid
I find it deep inside my consciousness,
Layin' freestyles as the 12 inch rips
so imagine, imagine a rhyme you couldn't fathom
back to the alleys and the roots of how it happened,
a kid that didn't know where he was goin'
closed eyes to imagine as he stated flowin'

Verse 2 (Derek)
Imagine what my past is worth to the passion
suburban outcast rockin' all the urban fashion
back of the class, writin verses
with the pen I was claspin, workin the days away
waitin' on the day to cash in
Now everyone askin, for the reason for the things I conceive
it seems the reason to give the beat box the will to breathe
If I get locked in a box, I know my minds still feelin' free
Its bafflin' to me to wonder where we'd be,
If Kool Herc never learned to scratch a record
or Grand Master Flash never passed on "The Message",
It's more than the cars, clothes and hoes
that makes the flow so infectious,
It takes multiple perceptions to put it all in perspective
so check it,
we went from raisin' bass and blazin' in the basement
to rockin' ya place straight from the radio station,
to see Pac on the Pope's playlist is an amazement
we're finally seein' things change, until then be patient
and just imagine..
imagine..

Verse 3
(David)
Imagine that my rhymes were food for thought,
in an underground mindframe rhymes can't be bought
but really did you think that you could ever find,
in this space in time, something better for your mind

(Derek)
Just imagine ONE TIME,
awakin' from the mainstream pipe dream,
from the dark to the daylight
make me fiend for the soul supreme,
so don't be nervous for the nourishment
so organic as a piece of the planet
in its purest sense

(David)
The purest sense, the soul pertains to the lips
it will leave ya blind eyes when the moon is eclipsed,
emerging from the mist are two men with the sense
leading you to imagine real Hip-Hop still exists

(Derek)
Lames still ill equipped, though what we rip
is used for the muse of the new movement,
supercharged bars give way to the new nuisance
rhythmatic addict got you groovin' on some cool shit
bringin' back some beyond honest music
and its like that...
Just Imagine..
